15.03.2017 - After the private testing held in Barcelona and Misano in February and early March, I.S.R. racing's new campaign has now officially begun from the French circuit of Le Castellet, that has housed the official winter testing ahead of the Blancpain GT Series 2017.

The Czech outfit has positively impressed in the two testing days both on the single lap performance and on the race pace shown in a complete stint of 36 laps. Team and drivers worked well to adapt to the new generation of Pirelli tyres that will be used during this coming season. Drivers found a great feeling with the setup of the cars, thanks also to the dry conditions that provided a lot of grip since the beginning.

The team brought on track a partly renewed drivers lineup at Paul Ricard. Austrian Clemens Schmid joined the team after the victory in the Porsche GT3 Cup Middle East last year, and exchanged driving duties with the confirmed Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and the Audi factory driver Frank Stippler (GER) on the number 75 Audi R8 LMS. The absolute quickest time of day one was a 1'56''789s posted by Salaquarda in the afternoon session.

Italian Kevin Ceccon made his debut on sister car 74 Audi R8 LMS, as he was back behind the wheel after a long break following the LMP2 race of the European Le Mans Series back in 2016. Ceccon found himself at ease with the team and the car, driving constantly within the top ten during the first day and posting the fourth quickest time of the day on Tuesday morning.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"Being back on track after a long stop has been important for all of us, and we are particularly proud of our performance. We showed a great level of competitiveness. Our drivers could easily find the right rhythm, which makes us optimist ahead of the forthcoming season. The new campaign is certainly going to be exciting and very tight, a lot of drivers clocked lap times very close to each other, and being among the leading group gave us great feelings. The next weeks ahead of the season opener are going to be crucial to finalize the preparation work and to get to Misano on our best possible shape".

I.S.R. will get back on track next March 20th and 21st in Monza for another testing session before the first round of the Blancpain GT Series 2017 that is scheduled for April 1st at the Misano World Circuit (ITA).
