I.S.R. RACING HEADING TO MISANO WITH TWO AUDI R8 LMS FOR THE NEW CHALLENGE IN THE BLANCPAIN GT SERIES SPRINT CUP 2017
28.03.2017 - The await is mounting at I.S.R. racing at the eve of the opener of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup 2017, race that will get green lights this coming weekend at the Misano World Circuit.

After the winter testing held at Paul Ricard and Monza where I.S.R. racing has put in very strong performances, time is now come to get on track for the opener of this new season. The Czech outfit will make it in what would be its third full campaign in the series with two Pro lineups at the wheel of the competitive Audi R8 LMS.

Audi works driver Frank Stippler (GER), will try to capitalize his experience on the cars of the House of Four Rings building on the positive results obtained last year. He will compete again for I.S.R. racing on the number 74, sharing it with the young Italian driver Kevin Ceccon. Following the strong performances shown in open wheel categories leading to Formula 1, Ceccon will make his debut in the Blancpain GT Series during this season.

The number 75 Audi R8 LMS will be driven by Filip Salaquarda (CZ), who has a deep knowledge of this championship with six participations, and Clemens Schmid (AUT), who has been the unquestioned protagonist of the Porsche GT3 Middle East in the past few years and has been shining at the 24 Hours of Dubai, taking a podium in 2015. The Austrian driver will also be at the debut in the series.

The Misano's racing weekend will kick off on Friday March 31st with two free practice sessions, the first at local 15:25 (GMT+2) and the second at sunset at 19:30. Qualifying will take place on Saturday April 1st at 14:15 and will proceed the fascinating overnight Qualifying Race at 20:40. A short warm up in the morning of Sunday April 2nd at 9:30 will lead into the Main Race that will get green lights at 12.30.

TV coverage is being improved in these hours, but last year's programming should be confirmed this year too. Live streaming in English and French will be available at www.blancpain-gt-series.com.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal).
"It has been hard work during winter. Testing held in the past few weeks allowed us to collect important data without experiencing any particular difficulty, with the new drivers adapting themselves quickly to the car. I am really happy on having such two strong driver pairings to field in this new season. Frank, Kevin, Filip and Clemens have a great potential and strong motivation ahead of the forthcoming campaign, and the whole team is ready to give their best to allow them to be protagonist on track. The weekend of Misano is very charming, the first overnight race and the typical unknowns of the first race of the season add further excitement to the challenge that we are about to start".
