I.S.R. RACING VERY MOTIVATED AT THE EVE OF THE ROUND OF LE CASTELLET OF THE BLANCPAIN GT SERIES ENDURANCE CUP
22.06.2017 - I.S.R. racing is all set to get on track for the third round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup, that will get underway this weekend at the circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet (F).

The Czech outfit will be called to confirm the speed shown so far in a weekend that might be crucial for the season and to be again a protagonist. The endurance nature of this event will allow the team to run on conditions similar to those that will be found at the Total 24 Hours of Spa, the much awaited appointment scheduled in just over a month time. Filip Salaquarda (CZ) and Clemens Schmid (AUT) will exchange behind the wheel of the n.75 Audi R8 LMS n.75 alongside the new entry Filipe Albuquerque (P). This lineup will defend I.S.R. racing colors this coming weekend and in the forthcoming legendary race in the Ardennes at the end of July.

The race at Paul Ricard will be particularly interesting as the majority of the teams have already run on this track during pre-season testing. The Main Race will be run between dawn and the early night, with similar conditions to those that will be found at the 24 Hours of Spa, as temperatures will go down impacting on the performance of cars.

This race is going to be quite demanding for drivers. The Paul Ricard has been confirmed by FIA as the venue of the French race of the F1 2018. Its layout mixes very fast sectors as the famous Mistral Straight, that is now split in two by a chicane, and more twisty sections as the final part leading into the Virage du Pont. This means that drivers and engineers will have to work to find a setup able to unleash the speed of quick sectors, but also to have a good traction out of the slow corners.

The programme of the weekend will be compacted in only two days. Free practice will take place on Friday at 13:30 (GMT +2), while pre-qualifying will follow at 16:25. Three qualifying sessions on Saturday starting from 10.00 will lead into the spectacular Main Race that will get green lights at 18:00 to finish in the middle of the night. Motorsport TV and Eurosport will cover the race live, and the latter network will also show highlights on Tuesday 27th. The official website of the series www.blancpain-gt-series.com will provide the live streaming feed with English and French commentary.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"The round at Paul Ricard reminds us that we are close to the 24 Hours of Spa and this weekend is going to be very important. We will compete in particular conditions, both in terms of visibility and temperatures and drivers will have to give their best throughout all the event. Albuquerque joined Filip and Clemens, and I believe we can get some strong results. We have already proven we can be protagonists if all goes to plan, therefore I hope to have a plain race and to convert our strong motivation into good results".
