A TECHNICAL PROBLEM STOPPED I.S.R. RACING AT THE SILVERSTONE'S ROUND OF THE BLANCPAIN GT SERIES ENDURANCE CUP 2017
14.05.2017 - A retirement ended I.S.R. racing's weekend at the circuit of Silverstone (UK) during the second round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup 2017.

Despite chaning weather conditions that shuffled cards several times, the Czech outfit managed to put in strong performances at the British track since free practice. Filip Salaquarda (CZ), Frank Stippler (GER) and Clemens Schmid (AUT) exchanged driving duties on the n.75 Audi R8 LMS. The lineup kept its pace in both free practice sessions, despite the different conditions, confirming the positive feelings of the eve.

I.S.R. Racing drivers capitalized on the work done in the previous sessions during qualifying, which showed a remarkable progression that allowed them to improve their best lap time. A total of 15 cars ended within a second a spectacular Q3 and the n.75 Audi R8 LMS closed with the 24th fastest time in 2'00.283s.

The Czech outfit devised a strategy devoted to put in a solid comeback in the race. Frank Stippler got off from the twelfth row of the grid and his strong and constant race pace allowed him to gain several positions. He then pitted with perfect timing, which allowed I.S.R. racing to undercut several rivals getting the most of a virtual safety car period. Unfortunately, Filip Salaquarda who took over the wheel of the Audi R8 LMS at the pit stop, had to stop a few corners into his race due to the failure of the alternator.

Igor Salaquarda (I.S.R. racing, Team Principal):
"We are obviously disappointed on the missed chance. We devised a very aggressive strategy that would have even paid off more due to the virtual safety car. It does not happen often to stop due to a technical problem: the Audi R8 LMS is a very reliable car and this was certainly a one off episode. We will focus on the next round of the championship from tomorrow on".

I.S.R racing will be back on track next 23 - 25 June at the circuit of Paul Ricard (FRA) for the next round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup.
